The Anger Management Workshop identifies individual triggers and helps participants understand how internalizing anger has impacted their decision making skills. Youth will be challenged to evaluate their circle of friends and will learn how to process stressful situations by utilizing positive alternatives.

The Delinquent Behavior workshop is focused on truancy, theft, & crime. Participants can expect to learn information about skipping school, cutting class, stealing, receiving stolen property, the consequences of breaking the law, and how the juvenile justice system addresses these behaviors.

The Gang Awareness Workshop goes in depth about the reasons why youth decide to join gangs. Participants will discuss consequences of involvement, the dangers of association, the attraction to gangs, recruitment techniques, and criminal activities. Youth will also be asked to participate in topics such as the effects of drug usage, the importance of goal setting, and successful ways to walk away from a gang.
TOBACCO AWARENESS (DSHS approved course)
(8 program hours) Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Texas Youth Tobacco Awareness Program (TYTAP) is responsible for ensuring that Texas youth are able to complete a tobacco awareness course as mandated by the 75th Texas Legislature through the Texas Health & Safety Code, Sec.161.253. TYTAP uses the Texas Adolescent Tobacco Use and Cessation curriculum. The ongoing growth of this program and long-term evaluation is the result of collaboration between the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health and the University of Houston.
